Flex Statement | Response to the Rescinding of the DOL IC Rule

"Flex appreciates the steps that the U.S. Department of Labor has taken to support independent workers, including its announcement that it will rely on common-sense guidance when considering worker classification under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The Department’s reinstatement of FLSA Opinion Letter 2019-6 acknowledges that 21st century technology creates opportunities for millions of Americans, including those who earn through app-based platforms because they value the flexibility and autonomy of independent work. We look forward to working with DOL leadership to pursue policies that support the workers, consumers, and businesses who use app-based services every day."
