Flex Association Statement on Department of Labor Worker Classification Rule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 26, 2026

The following statement is for attribution to Flex CEO Kristin Sharp:

“We applaud the Department of Labor’s decision to propose this common sense rule. It provides much needed certainty for the millions of independent entrepreneurs across every sector of the economy. This is welcome news for American workers, and an acknowledgment that worker classification policies should reflect the realities of today’s work. The millions of Americans who earn through app-based platforms do so because they value the flexibility to choose when, where, and how to work. We look forward to working with DOL as it shapes policies that align with the 21st century economy and support the workers, consumers, and businesses that embrace app-based services."
