FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 30, 2026
The following statement is for attribution to Flex CEO Kristin Sharp:
“Every day, millions of Americans rely on app-based delivery platforms for food and essentials from restaurants, retailers, grocers, and small businesses. We share policymakers’ goal of ensuring transparency and protecting consumers from unfair or deceptive practices. However, delivery platforms already address the core objectives of this legislation. Our industry uses data — such as delivery distance — for the purpose of ensuring that pricing is calculated fairly and reflects the actual cost to serve each individual customer. Furthermore, we disclose all costs to the consumer so they can make informed decisions before placing an order.
App-based platforms facilitate more than four billion transactions every year, and 67 percent of U.S. adults have ordered food through a delivery app. Consumer response to platforms remains strong, with 87 percent satisfaction. We look forward to working with policymakers to ensure that app-based platforms can continue to deliver for consumers, and support the workers, and local businesses that depend on the app-based industry.”
