Flex Statement on DoL Worker Classification Rule Being Sent to White House for Final Review

Today, as the proposed rule by the Department of Labor concerning the classification of independent contractors is sent to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs within the White House, Kristin Sharp, CEO of Flex issued the following statement:

“As we have long maintained, Flex strongly discourages the administration from finalizing this rule until there is a permanent Senate-confirmed Secretary of Labor. Nonetheless, we hope that – at a minimum – the White House’s review of this rule considers the 23 million Americans who have chosen independent app-based work for its flexibility and the supplemental earnings opportunities.”
